Trophy Pro 2359 fishing boat $1.00

I was told to stay away from this carb motor in the Trophy 2359's, way underpowered... thoughts?
Agreed; that’s a big boat for a 5.0 IB/OB. The high-five prop is likely an experiment to get it up on step faster

Man, I’d say low 40’s? Lots of 15 year old boats listed for too much. 150k replacement cost if it has a head/holding tank macerator, cooktop, fridge, heat, electronics ? Hull is worth 20k minimum (what is monaro charging for a hull 50k?) trailer 3.5k (age of tires/brakes/discs), kicker 2k, top 2k, inboard 5k? I value the camper top and a mint kicker much higher as I know they are 4-5k installed new and so many boats don’t have them. I’m thinking of going prawning on the gulf islands this weekend at 12 degrees and can even fish for some Hali with a little difficulty with the top up.

Electronics? If the hull is mint, frehwater engine with no rusty screws and everything is close to new I’d add 10k with today’s pricing. Compare that to a rotten powerless 23 double eagle for 9k you are getting a good deal. I wouldn’t worry so much about the price but the cost of ownership and upgrading as we all know. LOC secured can be cheap right now.

Go get her!

It does have a Hook2 I believe and VHF but thats about it for electronics (no need to have too much on lakes i guess). It's a private sale, in Alberta, just tipping $50,000, but one owner fresh water boat. I always think resale so debating if I can get my $$ back if need be...? Yes the Monaro hull kit is $50K and like everything else mucho-dearie's!

@Robert Snyder Man that is a tough price. It's not a premium package like that 5.7 Duroprop on that Trophy. It doesn't seem to have a ton of the top options but isn't bare-bones either. If you have any comparables like Aquaholics above I would show them to him and offer him 45 if you like the boat. I'm resigned to never getting a lot of money out of my boat. If i can use it and have a half dozen or a dozen family trips that are as good as going to Hawaii or better I'll feel like it's paid off. https://pdf.nauticexpo.com/pdf/campion/explorer-622i-sedan/20873-16765.html

Is it possible that you thinking about getting your money back when selling is why you have not pulled the trigger yet? kaelc is correct, if getting your money out of it is the determining factor, you might need another hobby.

Ya its a tough spot to be in for sure... I start digging up some comparables, good idea!

I've actually made money on my last 3 boats because I've found well cared for boats at reasonable prices (before the escalating prices) and improved them.It may be unreasonable to expect to get your money back in this crazy market now though.Just keep looking, something will turn up,and then you'll have to pull the trigger in a hurry.
