2011 Trophy pro 2359 WA - $45,999 USD (Bremerton)

Nice find. Even has a transom door for the mother-in-law.

I took a look at this boat and she's a beauty. Hull is pretty mint.
Thoughts on pricing? Wife would murder me, but might have to take a swing
So few of these left.
Big questions is the engine, is that series of Volvo a good one and 220hp to push a 26, with how big a beam?
@ship happens what do you think of the - Volvo Penta AD41P-A 1500 Hours (Approx. 220Hp)
If you like a 20kn cruise, it’s enough for me but I do like it that I can get 24-25 when I want to go.

How much has it been moored, transom assembly replaced or not? Trailer might be a good one, but ask if it’s electric over hydraulic how old, etc. Nice features like the bow thruster. The wallas stove might be original and of little value if it is that old but might be good for another 5 plus years. I like the sound of a full enclosure but not sure which area it covers.

If it hasn’t sold it’s overpriced but it’s a lot of boat for 100k Canadian pesos. Main question is that power plant and wanting to service that combo.

From what I have heard and read that model of Volvo is a good one. Burning 5GPH at 20kn is pretty sweet. She'll go 30 allegedly but gets real thirsty at that point. If taken care off, those engines should run 5-7000 hours easy.

The guy bought it sight-unseen last year in Kitimat, and had a full hull survey done on the boat before buying, and survey checked out. It's also a 2005, so a lot less time to compromise hull vs the older ones. Can happen of course, but it's on the newer side for sure.

Trailer would need some work for sure, but is serviceable. Not sure how much it was moored before current owner.

Tough call. Why does the boat I've been looking for for years come up right before the taxman shows up!? Cruel timing

Nice boat with a nice platform. 1500 hours on a D4 is not much. Don Carol would have more input then me on that model of a D4, however I'd say it's an economical package. Traveling faster than 3200 rom will only result in alot more fuel burn and pulling more power from any engine will only result in the longevity. So if that boat cruises at 20 knots at 3200 ( which isn't that bad. I think that's doing pretty good ), I think it's propped pretty well since the WOT on those engines is 3500 I believe. I'm sure you can run it at WOT without damage however Noone does usually. In a pinch sure. Headroom is nice.

I think the drives are always the problem or weak point with the diesel power boats. That would definitely need to be well looked at and accounted

power looks rough on this one

If it’s the boat you have been looking for and well kept jump on it. I never see my boat for sale local, much less well equipped. Shoot him an offer that makes sense for you since there are very few people making offers on 100k boats. If you low ball him do it on the phone and hopefully he will counter with the bottom line. Property Tax bill is a kick. Do what I do, Airbnb the house and spend time in the boat :) tell your wife you will make money, you’ll get a kick eventually :)

I want to agree with this on alot of levels, however for what it is the DP drive is pretty tough. Not my cup of tea, I'll just slow it down and run shafts. However I do understand the need to run faster. There's not another option really besides outboards. It's all the same in the end. Power, weight, speed. You get there when you get there and you burn what you burn. Unless your running the merc 600s lol. That 3/4 or a min of a 5/8 fuel line tells a story there 😄

I have to disagree. The weak point of any marine propulsion system is whatever was not spec'd correctly. I know it's a bit of a cop out, but with routine maintenance and use most systems will last quite a long time. The majority of failures I've seen are from equipment that is under powered, uncared for, sits unused or too small for whatever load it was supposed to take.

If something has 100 moving parts versus one moving part? How could that possibly be true?

If the one hundred moving parts are designed to be doing what they are and the one isn't, then it's a self fulfilling prophecy. My point is that blanket statements such as "x is better than x" are usually a result of minimal experience outside the of the one situation. Are stern drives inherently better or worse than outboards? Should every outboard boat have a pod? Is diesel always better? In my opinion no, each application has it's place in different scenarios depending on what the goal is.

Or
I know you aren't talking about my Mother-in-law, she is like where in the hell do we put all the prawn and crab traps, get this fricken dog house out of the way ;)
put them on top of the dog house. I have the same layout in my 2052 and it really isn't a big deal.
That's a beautiful boat.

I’m certainly no expert, I wasn’t saying all stern drives are inferior or troublesome seems certain stern drives with diesel power seem to have had problems. I have a stern drive that’s been great

I/o ( diesel or gas)are way more maintenance to keep going than outboard, anybody says otherwise is kidding himself. I for one was an I/o owner of multiple and would never go back. I am no mechanic but pretty good at all the basic stuff involve , did most of the work on IO on all my boats and now have an outboard and so much easier to work on, and worry less about the boat sinking because water is coming in from everywhere it can come in on a iO
