A 19 angler should go well with 75hp. I have 150hp on a 25.5hp loaded with head, galley etc. The angler is a hell of a lot lighter. Should do 28mph on a flat calm day with two Canucks looking for fish, or 24mph with two Americans or two Canucks loaded with fish. If it last to the weekend I'd be surprised. Not many hard tops equipped like that and few boats with that much headroom.

Interesting, my buddy in Saanich has an older 22 Angler with a 75hp and it performs really well, he figures in that range. He's light as is his family and he has no kicker on it. Newer Merc 75hp but hull is from the 80's with a hard top. I'll try racing him this weekend and will get you the performance number if it happens. I thought the 22 should have a 115, but the merc 75-115 are the same block etc. Not sure about the 2009 Yami 75hp, if it's the same as the 115, but the 115 was a great engine.

Are you shopping these days or more the realtor in you checking out properties?

I had some initial interest but once I downloaded the photo of the cockpit space, it leaves a lot to be desired for landing fish, so I would either want a soft top in that length or a longer boat with hardtop with a bigger cockpit space.

With that boat, trying to cruise at 25 mph the throttle would have to be almost pinned. Even the seller told me that he wishes it had a 90. With a 90 you could put on a bigger propeller and have a better cruising speed at lower RPM. We do know that they do plane easy even with that smaller motor because of the almost flat bottom at the stern. Of course the trade off is that the ride is compromised.

i’m not suggesting that it will not sell, it does show well and he has done a lot of improvements to it since he purchased it.

That boat was originally out of Nanaimo

Yeah 22 Angler would be more your thing, with the 115. So much room for traps or dancing, compared to my 25 cruiser. Fish storage is an issue for any C-Dory but you can throw a cooler up top and have kill bag ready to go.

A SFBC member with a 22 C-dory said he priced a new 25 Cruiser at 200-250k depending on how they are outfitted. Mine with a some of the mods, maybe more but a 25 is a different class of boat with a stand up head, scuppers, windlass two beds.

A new 19 angler? I'm guessing outfitted like that with, trailer, canvas and with a kicker 100-110k maybe a lot more? Things like Canvas, Trim Tabs, Anchor, Downriggers, dual batteries (2007 is a good year for wiring at C-Dory) it all add up so quickly. He also did some nice improvements to the electrical and added a really nice 10 inch screen. Just buying a set of riggers new, mounting them at a dealership costs at least $1500 (Yes I know members can get deals for downriggers but even at $1000 but tax, labour, electrical). I looked at a 25 without Canvas and got an estimate for 6k to put new canvas on. His electrical work and Garmin Screen/transducer/blackbox work is worth a ton and looks like he did clean work, I don't know would likely cost 5k at a dealer?

Hard top boats are sure nice as we head into winter, and if you want to keep weather off you all summer. You can have lawn chairs on the back deck while you wait for the prawn traps to fill up.... I think that boat is a steal at $34k. If I didn't have my boat I'd offer him full price and fill up the truck and head north.
