Plans of heading over this weekend ,
heard threw the vine , roads are in sketchy condition , ice n snow issues , can anyone give me some updates throughout the week, my 4x4's not an option for me this wknd , heading over Friday or Sat

Roads are a complete mess right now in the higher elevations, not sure about the road to Bamfield but i just got back to Tofino from Nanaimo and it was not fun in the passes even in my truck. Weather looks like it's settling down over the next few days though so road crews should have things sorted out by the weekend. Have a safe trip!

Still a sheet of ice, friends just came in took 4 hours in 4X4 chains required. Guess they had it closed from Port out last night. That section is the worst, up to Franklin. Cars all over the ditches they said.
Know some others that have no choice but to brave it later today, when I get an update, you will.

Way better, warm all day and raining the whole way, since the morning has turned to puddles, potholes, and the odd icy patch.

was alittle worried this morning ,
actually quite pumped to come over , weather looks great , saturday n on , will keep my fingers crossed ,
going to the nux oil game tmrw , so first ferry saturday should help , stayin til tues , keep my fingers crossed , nook is now clear of ice , gas dock is good ta go

anyone using the road , be care full , 100 meter stretch of ice around the 35 k area outta PA ,just before midway , some boulders here and there too , but do-able, take your time
just hittin the water , will be on 68 n cell

tried to get this out sooner , just a little update ,
fished sunday morning for 2 hours , hit 3 fish close to home ,lost a gooder at the boat , in the net , outta the net , was by myself , right out front of the Nook . Pulled a few test rigs through the water , various needlefish, natta , " small "spoons were the ticket , 2.5 - 3 in. 5-6ft behind glow or Uv flashers. Stopped at PNT and picked up some custom TKO spoons in " Black Glow " and " flamin hans "patterns, fast troll , right off bottom 125 -150feet . Fished 2hrs that afternoon for 2 more fish , again , just outta the Nook , bonked 2 ta take home , man , let me tell ya , you cannot beat Winters for the table , unreal , my favorite fish.
Crabbing and Prawning is still excellent , all around the Sound.
next outting will be the Sproat Lake Loggers Derby for us
