Good to see ya out there Blue Orca!
We ended up releasing 6 springs, kept 3, and one line failure. Not too bad, but not great either..
Meant to catch up with ya for a brew & BS session, but the action on the lings and rockies was swift, and by the time we got back up inside it was huffing - no suprise there was no answer on the radio I guess.
Marked a few schools of sox on the way in, but none came to the gear. Did hear of a couple getting tagged in the usual target area, but in hindsight believe we made the right decision to go after the springs.

Gonna be back out on the sox anon, letcha know as it goes...

Cheers,
Nog

Saw a couple spots on the sounder too, but was tough heading into the winds to get at them.
Two springs on the outside but nothing of any size.
Nice keepers there, oh master of the chuck.

I'm gonna phone after school on friday to sooke and port to decide where to go for sat morning... if anyone has an opinion please let me know as it will be the first major salmon expidition of the year. will post a report on what happens in either location.

Might I suggest calling Gone Fishin In Port Alberni. there # is 1-250-723-1172. There usually right up to date on the socks.

well they said its been dead, which concurs with most of the reports ive been hearing, however sooke is gonna be windy tomorrow...<img src=icon_smile_angry.gif border=0 align=middle>

well i dont know where you were or what you used, but today was the first time in my memory of being skunked for sockeye. we fished hook bay, macktush, and china creek/underwood. where the heck were you?!? (p.s. didnt see any fish caught by other guys either)

I was referring to Sooke being windy/red hot...however it was too windy for me to get out today...try again tomorrow.
