As most know I have looking hard for a male wolf hybrid to welcome into our lives.
Three years have wandered by since I lost The Boogyman.
Still miss him desperately even after all that time.
But I simply know that a new pup will help alleviate that to some extent.

This week one of my buddies informed me he knew of a wolf hybrid litter IN TOWN!
I had to go and look obviously.
Unfortunately the 2 males were spoken for and they have no plans for any more litters down the road.

One of the gals caught my eye though, and certainly warmed right up to me...
Hmmm...

Took my Lady to look at them, and when the single tear of joy ran down her cheek when she picked the one I liked up, I knew I was doomed. They were asking 5 bills, but upon hearing our background immediately dropped that to 3 saying "better to have a great home than a little extra coin!"

The 7 week old Gal is simply gorgeous!

It is uncanny just how close the mom's face is to that of our 12+ year old Kimmiq.
They could be sisters...

Many of my buddies are saying we are nuts for doing this at this stage of our lives.

I say it keeps US young!

And... I am still hunting for the right male...

Picking her this afternoon as we're puppy proofing the house today.

Interesting & fun times ahead...

Cheers,

Beautiful pup Nog!!

Lol great lookin little bugger. Going to be a loving handfull for you guys, enjoy.

Off to a rather promising start!

Much to our surprise she only woke us up once overnight.

Kimmiq is still a little shy around her, but has accepted her.

Ila has definitely bonded with my wife - follows her constantly and must keep her in sight.

Does OK outside (never been before) but it will be a learning curve to understand that is where we do our business it seems.

Eating and behaving rather well except she likes to test chew pretty much everything...

The madness has begun...

Hey Nog. Quick honest question….why the tendency in wolf hybrid’s? Beautiful pup.

I got my first Wolf Hybrid (1/2 Timber, 1/2 Husky) well over 4 decades ago now.
They have an intelligence that is hard to fathom if you haven't been around one much.
Like the Einsteins of the canine world.
They are very loving, friendly, protective and more.

Certainly not for everyone, they need a LOT of experience in their companions.
Their need for exercise, support and understanding runs very very deep, so they require a great deal of time and effort to bring out their best.

My Lady & I have now been living with, rearing and training Wolf Hybrids for over 40 years now.
Simply became our way of life...

Wouldn't have it any other way!

I’m very happy for you Matt!

Upside down sleep:

Looks to me uncomfortable sleep:

Brought her down to the dungeon, and she immediately took over one of my old bookcases:

First day we've had her that my Lady wandered off to work in the early.
She left Ila on her bed in the living room sleeping.
That didn't last long and she made a beeline for the bedroom where she started to whine, then howl (amazing how much volume can come out of one so small!).
So, up and at 'em in the pitch dark - a first for me in a spell - most certainly not the last...
