Here are some pic's of the flange repair... existing/old flange was app 1/16" thick, now its more like 3/16" -1/4"

Steps:
1. In -fill all screw holes by placing tape on the under side of flange so the thickened epoxy didn't fall through
2. Apply thickened epoxy
3. Sand flat once epoxy is cured
4. Prep surface and inside radius and structure wall to receive fibreglass
5. Apply 2 layers of 1708 with epoxy resin, allow adequate overhang for trimming
6. Trim to original flange edge and sand flat

Those repairs will be way stronger this time, I think you will be happy with them when you are done.
Did you grind this crack out, or just fill over it? If you haven't done anything about it, I would grind it and fillet it, or it will likely come back.

Yes sir, I haven't completed the topside of the flange but plan on a layer or at least grind and fillet... thank you

Use melamine for a backer, won't stick, some people don't even wax it but I did.
I would use your new fiberglass plugs and glass them in from the back.

Hey, here are a few pictures showing the topside repair of the fastening flange... I laid 2x1708, now i have lots of meat to attach to also all those nasty stress cracks have been grinned away and never to return again I'll trim everything tomorrow and start fairing.

Started the transom today...

1. Sand plywood
2. Clean ply, clean ply and clean ply
3. Brush on epoxy resin, let absorb
4. Brush on second coat, let absorb
5. Prepare inside transom fibreglass
6. Clean transom, clean transom and clean transom
7. Use 1/4” grooved trowel to apply thickened epoxy to transom
8. Use 1/4” grooved trowel to apply thickened epoxy to plywood
9. Place plywood to transom
10. Screw off and observe squeeze out
11. Remove excess epoxy and form fillet of thickened epoxy around perimeter of plywood

Hey gents, anyone with advise how to best install a new 80gal fuel tank? I do not like the foam-in idea, if water ever gets between the foam and tank there is now way to get rid of it. This is the original foamed-in tank from the boat and not what I want to see happen again...

My original was just shimmed in with pieces of plywood but same thing will happen and I'm sure it was over 40 years old. Aluminum angle flange but the bottom still needs to still needs to me supported. Pour poly but not cheap. I went plastic but tough to find right dimensions and I only have 50 gallons.

I foamed mine in and it was the cause of major rot.

The next one I had flanges built onto it that were fastened to the stringers
