Snuck out for a quick morning kayak fish in Becher with a couple o' pals today. Slower than last week, but we managed to get a few between us. One 7 lber went home with my pal. Had one hit that nearly ripped the rod out of my hands, but it didn't stick. Encountered one proper school on the sounder, but my jig took the opportunity to tangle itself in that critical moment. Derp.
There seem to be quite a few squid around, too. We caught a few on our glowy salmon jigs and it looked like they were all over. Crabbing was good for a change. Turns out rusty traps are, in fact, bad. The new trap worked great. Oh, and the weather was waaaay nicer than forecast. What a beaut of a mornin'.
