2025 Gulf Island Reports

I got out today for one last go before the closure. We hit active pass. Northeast side. A westcoast skinny g on one side, west coast coho killer on the other side. We had a ton of action. We released quite a few in the 50cm-60 cm range. Including a 59 and 61 cm. We released a nice lingcod. And kept a 68cm and 74cm chinook. Pretty good day.

That portion of Subarea 18-6 west of a line from Isabella Point on Saltspring Island (48°44.0239’N, 123°25.5622’W) to Harry Point on Piers Island (48°42.6137’N, 123° 25.1697’W) and west of a line from Indian Point on Piers Island (48°42.1410’N 123°25.4996’W), then through the red buoy U16, then through the green marker on the metal pilings, then due south to a point on Vancouver Island (48°41.6714’N 123°25.5501’W); and

Subarea 18-7.

Reminder: The minimum size for Chinook is 62 cm in Area 18.

18-10 is filled with crab pots. I'd tack around the southern tip but then again watch for prawn traps, I think there were a couple there or crab traps last weekend.

Took advantage of the bathtub conditions yesterday for a day trip across. Nothing crazy but found our lings. Less prawn & crab than usual but was only a 3hr soak. Can’t complain going home with a nice sampler pack tho.

That is Pitt Meadows Marina. I wasn’t feeling like doing the traffic thing so decided to burn some fuel. Nice 1hr run up the Fraser to Sand Heads area
