I do, yep. Mostly out of Sooke/Victoria/Sidney, though. I actually love fishing for pinks, but I usually make a trip up island to more secluded waters when chasing pinks. PM me if you wanna chat details.

When do the pinks show up around Saturna/Cabbage Islands?

Quick question for a less experienced fisherman, and I want to make sure I’m not mis-interpreting the rules/regs for salmon fishing in the gulf islands.

Under regulations, it shows chinook being closed in 18-6 right now, but then under restrictions, it contradicts itself somewhat by showing chinook in 18-6 with a daily limit of 1 clipped. Which one takes priority?

You've gotta plot the coordinates in your plotter so see the tiny area that is allowed. Or go by the image that is linked on the regulations site:

This was 19-7. ( south side of deep cove) 150? feet of water June 8. 9lb.
My only bite that day

I went out to Tumbo yesterday. There were a lot of fish around. Lots of action, we went home with 3 hatchery coho, not huge but delicious. The new blue and chrome Peetz spoon on a blue uv flasher and an Ap spoon did the most damage. 35-40 feet out in 250 feet of water.

Most people fish the Strait side off of Cabbage and further north.

Fished Tumbo yesterday morning 8-12, got our 4 hatch and released 4 wild, a couple long line releases and a few bites that didn't stick.
Strait side 300 ft-400 ft. 30-60 feet. Skinny G's

Any Porlier or Thrasher Rock area reports from the last few days?

There's coho everywhere on the middle of the gulf. Out in the 6 and 800s. Sockeye showing themselves

Porlier in 150-250, lines at 50. Pretty non stop action on Saturday. Hoochies both sides. Was working on the inside as well when it got too windy. The rip heading south along Galiano. Roughly equal mix of hatch to wild.

Speaking of Porlier, can anyone see any opportunity coming up for Chinook? I see some small portions of area 17, and 29-1 and 29-2 open up on the 15th. of July. I'm coming out of Maple Bay and would sure like to find something a little closer.
