hmmm, its not that horrible.
No power until the 30th I think is a pretty questionable timeline considering all the extra cost to people living there (that aren't being subsidised by the government) having to run off of generators and such. As a business owner there it would be considerably higher.

I agree trophywife.
Not too sure what Oleblue is looking for. Not that I have any skin in the game but those Hydro linemen boys appear to be some of the hardest working dudes. They get the power back on as fast as possible in some of the most incredibly challenging weather and terrain like what is going on here.
I have nothing against lineman and have family members who are and travel across the country and even down in the states sometimes during emergencies.

There were approximately 60 poles that needs replacing, all that span needs to be addressed for danger trees and made safe. Definitely time consuming, as everything needs to be assessed and then plan accordingly it’s not just full speed send I I’m sure, lots of different agencies involved also. Sounds like they are trying to speed up the time line as best possible.

Anyone know if there is still a public dock in San Matteo bay a guy could tie up to for the night?

Got one keeper spring on no bananas skinny g. Catching way more tiny ones on the spoons compared to the hoochie.
I've always found that same thing in August. Smaller fish are keen to hammer the spoons, but don't seem to know squid are food yet...? Definitely find I keep the lines in and fishing more with hoochies than spoons, rather than dealing with micros. But I don't think I am missing opportunities for good fish when fishing hoochies. They always seem to work.

Fished Sunday afternoon to Wednesday morning. We came home with 23 Limits of 12-20 lb springs and close to limits of coho for three guys.
Our fish came from Flemming, Pill point, Cree, and Dixon Island.
I lost a bruiser at Pill Point due to a netting error. This fish took multiple long runs and took more than five minutes to bring boat side. The fish was sulking below the surface at the side of the boat and taking repeated runs to the bottom. After about four of these runs, my net handler became inpatient and stabbed at it with the net. The last thing I saw was the net out of the water with the fish half in the net, and then it was gone. Of course due to this error the fish will forever be much larger in my mind than it probably was, as I never really got to see it. My size gauge is Just "Oh that's a really big fish" from my net handler. To be fair my net handler has probably netted hundreds of fish and is usually quite good at it, and he felt quite badly about his mistake. About 10 minutes after "the incident" he landed a nice 80 cm fish that was netted by me without any swearing required from either party, which improved the mood of everyone in the boat.
Most fish were caught at 70 feet using UV white hootchie and 3" Gibbs Gold Nugget Herring Aid spoon https://www.harbourchandler.ca/products/gibbs-delta-g-force-spoon-gold-nugget-herring-aid Which I chose due to the brown water from the algae bloom. If you are going to use the Gibbs spoon, make sure you keep an eye on the hook. they straighten out very easily. When not using these two go to lures we used, the Ghat-E Super Hero Aquaman https://westcoastfishingtackle.ca/products/phat-e-super-hero-series-new?variant=44310655664311 and Tomic 3.5" Pearl spoon with success.
We had to hunt for them a bit, but when we found them it was game on.
