2024 Tofino Reports

Small spring a Wilf and small Hali at 3 humps. No coho but lots of running, dropped 6 seasick off at Mackenzie beach, lesson learned. Coho for flat landers, no Lenard!

Apparently the tuna are only 25 miles off of Tofino right now from the guides that I spoke with. Got an nice 23 pounder Chinook yesterday. Lots of coho around and smaller chinooks in the 8 to 12 lb range.

Here's a photo of the 23. Had my late friend's son out with me. He got to reel it in and was grinning ear to ear. He's only 12 and his dad passed away 2 years ago. It was great to have him out on the boat!

Fished inside for coho, hooked into 3 beauties, landed 2. Guy at our campsite who gave us the tip did a master class on limiting out with 8 fish, shows up after us and left in a little over an hour! Our leaders may have been too short, any specific flashers recommended for coho?

No where near where you are, but I’ve had really good success dragging an old 8” metal dodger.

Lennard and out to three humps. Shaker springs and nice coho. Dropping a puker off, we thought drugs would do the trick but nope. No sniffs at real springs. Would love to get into some Hali, might have to be a solo trip this evening.

Got mom into a couple of coho while her grandson reeled a small spring in himself. Probably 40 years after she took me out fishing out of Pedder bay. Lost a couple coho hogs, this one got bonked. White death hootchie and AP needlefish I use for everything for the win. Take the young and old out, we don’t know how many seasons we’ll have with them.
