fished sandheads today with a buddy was a little sporty tons of pinks there not one spring still was fun also be aware of a underwater commerical crab float off the green can we hooked it and lost all of our gear cannon balls downrigger line and tackle crappy way to end the day

No , our other 4 fish were reds . This fish was deep down off Locarno beach , most likely a staging capilano fish . Two years to the day had a double header of whites this size or a bit larger in the exact same spot. It went 38 x 24 so somewhere in that high 20’s range.

Capilano fish are of Harrison Stock…. So that makes sense

We found our best success off T10 fishing 100-120 feet down trying to not feed those pesky pinks our anchovies

Yeah it was a little sporty and running across and back was a great adventure

Fished the bell buoy this evening. Got a 15 and a 10 and lost another 15 or so right at the boat. Only one tiny pink.
Was very slow until we dropped down to 120 feet and had the 15 on a minute later. Other 2 at the same depth.
White hootchie. Little lumpy but nice evening.

Fished sandheads from 0715 to 0930. Pinks at all depths to 99ft and steady. Got a fat pig of a 66cm spring on anchovy at 35ft near the green can.

It was rough and we gave up on more springs

We got two good springs right off the bat at T10 just after the tide change 37’ on chovie. Then swarmed by pinks so tried sandheads for a hour or so. Was more surfable than fishable so bailed, early lunch at milltown

Finally got out to sandheads by 530 pm yesterday. After a couple attempts. 4 springs by 630. 10# 14# 18# 20#. It's on fire.

We got two good springs right off the bat at T10 just after the tide change 37’ on chovie. Then swarmed by pinks so tried sandheads for a hour or so. Was more surfable than fishable so bailed, early lunch at milltown

Just north in about 120'. It was actually a double header with a pink on the other side which didn't stick. The guy on that rod was happy to lose it as he was green and barely keeping it together at that point

Two book end 10lb red springs at the Bell Buoy this a.m. and back at the dock by 8am. Both on anchovies at 70 ft. Hindsight … maybe should have gone for a longer ride to find something larger but it’s hard to resist the low fuel burn to the Bell Buoy.

Two rookie mistakes yesterday morning trying to fish T10 in those rollers: Chartreuse Glow brine and Caesar’s. The inside of the cabin looks like a neon Christmas tree! At least the carpet was already green. Only pinks to show for it and another lesson learned…

Any catch reports for the day? It must be really slow or really on fire

It’s really slow. Tons of bait and arches on the screen but nothing biting. Was about 50 boats but thinning out now.
Winds about 8-10 knots and still very lumpy but totally fishable. Lots of small boats.
