2021 Ucluelet Reports

just back from 4 days Ukee, WYA was hot first day, fish all 18-22 lbs and mean, next 2 days, flat calm so went to rats nose for hali, got a 24lb spring at 135, a nice ling , no halis, as we couldn't get threw coho. Non stop hits. the would strike as soon as u clipped onto downrigger, bait every where, we got several hatchery cohos and the spring was full of shrimp. next day . Still calm, back out there, got Managed to get gear down and caught our halis. and another ling....Next day started at little beach and was going to work up to WYA, but a run was sitting there. 90 mins of action, smallest fish 16 lbs. Lost 2 monsters, threw back 4 wild cohos. Came home with our limit and very happy. used no bananas and small herring aid spoons, No need for bait. 42 ft seemed to work.. Lot of boats staying out till 6ish, so must be afternoon bite. Most fish had either very large herring or needlefish.

Trolled out by lighthouse and little beach last night just before high tide. Not one bite. Passed by a couple other boats and no luck for them either. Seems the run we've had the last few weeks has moved on.
