There are a few around if anyone still has their boat in the water.
There was no one harvesting on the Cheakamus last weekend in a spots that I have never seen empty before this time of year. Nice to see.Squamish FN have an opening for chum in the Howe sound as well as in the river

Gator was this a DFO boat or a commercial seiner? Would like some information on this as we're having our SFAC meeting on Thursday. Was not aware of any commercial salmon openings in Howe Sound. What date was this photo taken?Doing test sets in front of Lions Bay right now. Watched them come from upper Howe Sound. Would that be for chum? Can't think of anything else.
I think she's the Neocaligus, a DFO boat. She's been all over the Sound the last few days. Looks to me like she's been doing prawn spawner index counts, among other things.Gator was this a DFO boat or a commercial seiner? It was taken the same day I posted it (Looks like Sunday). Definately a DFO boat. Watched it again yesterday cruising east and south of Gambler. Looks like they are searching for schools? But not looking in the right places. Been watching some amazing action in the water ME of Bowyer last 5 days. Whales or dolfins chasing bait to the surface and tons of gulls hanging around. Don't think they were seals as the group was spread out and size of the splash (cause it is so far away) suggests a larger predator. Hope this is of some help.Gator was this a DFO boat or a commercial seiner? Would like some information on this as we're having our SFAC meeting on Thursday. Sweet, what was your male to female prawn ratio? I'm not bragging or anything but I seem to be gettin more female than male. Please don't ask me what I'm using for bait lol.We fished today and it was awesome weather. Saw a seal with a chum in his mouth but no action for us on the typical spots around Bowen. We did pick up 35 beautiful prawns off boyer. Spoke with a few others and no action for them either to speak of.
That red hulled Seine boat is still around too. It was between Keats and Paisley.

I put my pots out overnight around bowen and didn't do too bad. 60 male prawns and just over 100 of the smaller pink shrimp. Not the best but it's ok I guess. It's not always about the gas money.Only had one female out of the catch, we were pretty surprised too. 330' deep...
It's NEVER about the gas money lol. Recreational fishing is the worst business plan on the planet. #firstworldproblemsI put my pots out overnight around bowen and didn't do too bad. 60 male prawns and just over 100 of the smaller pink shrimp.
