Blowing in English Bay....4 squatter boats on beaches and one adrift in False Creek mouth being tended to by the Coast Guard.

Not sure if anyone has seen this....had about an 8-10 inch lamprey (I assume that’s what it was) latched on to a sock the other day.

Too bad about the wind today as there seemed to be a lot of fresh fish rolling in yesterday afternoon at Sandheads.

The much better half and I dropped the lines well outside the pack at 2pm yesterday on the way back from Saltspring and there just seemed to be an endless number of massive schools between 100ft and 150 ft. We caught our 8 quickly and the fish were larger, brighter and with very little slime. Yesterday felt a bit more like a mix between a video game and virtual reality as, for the first five fish, each time a massive red red blob would converge on the downrigger lines on the screen, one rod would pop off. With 5 in the box, we were trying to figure out why we weren’t doubling up and then we went thru a massive red blob that covered from 100 ft to 200 ft and all hell broke loose and we boxed our last 3 on a quad. It was a perfect adrenaline rush to finish a very active 90 minutes and for us to end our sockeye season on.
