Alberni-Haggards x1
Alberni to Nahmint x3
=$850.
The prawns were expensive this year .
I’m definitely looking at trailering to Ukee this year vs running up the inlet. Also even thinking about night vision flir cameras and just running with moon light at 7kn to double my gas mileage. Taking shifts piloting during the night to cut costs but I’m sure as we hit nautical twighlight we will put the throttle down and get their quick to get lines down!

The only thing that'll change for me is being more insistent that friends split costs on trips from now on. It's not only the fuel but the non stop maintenance. Boat ownership is more than double what it used to be for me and it's really starting to hurt. In this market there isn't much around to downsize to.

I can definitely say that I have spent more money in worse ways than gas in my boat! time on the water, time with friends and family, mental health breaks=priceless! I work a lot in the off season so I can get out on my boat, not going to change here, from what I read, it may be even more peaceful out there, perfect.

Over 300 more since my last post, some people still complaining about the fuel cost. So stop boating. You obsess, stress out and totally miss the excellent points noted ^^^ or you undervalue them.
Read your book, watch TV, walk the dog, take a breath.
Almost free! That's what I'll be forced to do when I'm too old for boating. For now, I have my freedoms (that have zip to do with a mandate.)

I know. I need to have etransfer request set up. My buddy is taking me out on his 282, I will want to head out to the rats nose off Bamfield, might be a 60nm run. I’m worried about the $1000 weekend I just need to remember he’ll be dropping 10k ish in pst/gst plus 10k on maintenance/electronics before the cost of the boat/trailer. I guess I better just sell some **** I don’t use and be thankful. I should tip him! 5 years of taking guys to limit out and no tips so far.

I’m going back to a smaller 17ish foot boat. I’ll leave my big boat at my buddys and just empty it out after each trip. He’s 1/4 mile from arrow lake and I’m an hour away. Small boats fine for the local lakes we fish and I’m ok with that. Last year was $1000 in fuel just towing my big boat to the island and back. This year would be at least $1500. At that price I’ll go back to paying a guide or relying on buddies taking me out. . Maybe make a deal on a trip here or there but honestly, no size limit in the river and it’s pretty close by so there is that too
