WTB $300 000 Boat for $100 000. Serious offers only please.

Ya you guys will end up liking the command bridge, it’s a sweet place to be chilling and taking it all in. The carpet may be great right now for the kid, essentially the inside will be like s big play pen. Maybe replace the blue coverings with black or grey as well as the pin stripes and it will look a lot sharper. I think commander is the way to go. You should check out the 92 that just came up
Are you talking about the 30? I looked at a 92 30 with Morley a few weeks back. The wife thought it was TOO big. I think she just couldn't get past all the canvas up top. It was a huge enclosure that felt really imposing on the back deck, like you'd be in the shadow of this monstrosity. Although before I figured **** it go big or go home and just get the 30 I'm now really liking the idea of a lighter faster 26 with only one motors worth of problems and maintenance. Tough call for sure.

3rd world problems haha....keep in mind that your family may get bigger and the more room you have the happier everyone will be especially on week long trips etc....imo there’s never enough room for the wife’s crap so bigger is better lol. If the plan is that this will be the last boat you guys buy then I would really consider thinking about if you guys will grow into the 30’ commander. As you know it’s a painful experience trying to find and deal with buying a boat all the bs that goes along with it. Just some food for thought

Yes I'm happy to read this today. I have spend many over night trips on both the 26 and 30. Both great boats. The command bridge really is awesome. For looks just get a command bridge cover they make it look smaller and just have a Bimini you can put up in the sun. The bridge is where I spent a lot of my time hanging out listening to tunes or using the binoculars looking at stuff great views. Also the best place to cruise from. If you worried about the kids just don't allow them up there.
Good luck.

Man that's pretty cool. You're right it does check a lot of boxes. Might be worth requesting some better photos.

Oh I was talking about the 30. The 30 and the 26 are like a complete different layout. Didn’t know you were considering a 26, that explains why I didn’t find the 04 with single diesel. From all your criteria doesn’t seem like the 26 would be ideal. Did you see the 1992 30 pretty close to your budget.

yeah the 92 30 is the one we looked at. And you're right they're very different boats. Like 5000 pounds different. I asked my wife that last night, I said "so you know the 26 only sleeps 4 at best?" and for whatever reason she now doesn't care. The thing I didn't like about the 26 was that you had to duck under the door unless the hatch was up and that there was a couple steps as you enter into the salon. I should just tell Morley to take all the canvas off the 30 and show it to her again lol. And maybe leave the baby with grandma this time.

Yes, go with the 30, pretty much all one level from back deck right into the cabin. Would the 26 offer much more space than your current boat? Get your wife back on the 30 for what you two wanna do, that’s the one.

Checked out the 26 listing, seems like the 92 30 would be the better deal at 20k more your getting a lot more boat, one that will work for your criteria. A little work could have the 30 looking pretty sweet, kinda like the one prodded, just switching out all the blue, like bottom paint, trim etc. The 26 is a 03 compared to the 92 but the hulls haven’t really changed much and the 92 is said to be in really good shape and they both have similar hours for the diesels

Go with the 30. Ride quality, living space, no real changes over the years as per @dmurph comments.

I know a guy who bought a 26 and immediately wished he got the 30 instead.

Gun the bimni and just go for a simple snap on cover over the flybridge and it won’t have that top heavy look.

Good call. I'll start with the carpet
Getting rid of the green carpet makes a huge difference! Sounds like your in flooring so should be easy. Give the command bridge a chance first before you remove it. I would be surprised if you didn’t end up liking it. Remove the Bimini and it will look less to heavy.
We may still be able to add you to the Commanders owners group!
Good luck!

Not if you take the command bridge off. Sacrilegious! Like I've said before, I'm fortunate to have buddies that all run Commanders, like @leftcoast I've been on a ton of them. Fishing weekends away, and just out for night bights. I can't say I'd change one thing on them. You get a feeling of being bullet proof on them, secure and safe.

In the heat of the summer, the command bridge is where you want to be. So much fun fishing. In the dead of the winter you're inside fishing out of your living room. My next boat will be a Commander for sure, I feel they're one of the most versatile boats out there.

Wow!! Hope everything turns out on both fronts. I'm sure it will. She will love it in no time. My wife and I are very envious. Fingers crossed. If it is meant to be it will happen. Having a furnace is a game changer. We were out for an over night trip a couple of weeks ago. The furnace was on the entire trip. Gives you 4 seasons of boating. Commander is the best northwest boat hands down.
