Where to go for halibut

Want to target halibut, thinking winter harbour but can travel the island. Options are winter harbour, port hardy, ucuelet. Where would you go?

I would also recommend north of Malcolm Island in George/Taylor/Numas bank in Queen Charlotte Sound, much more consistent weather if your specifically targeting halibut. Back end of Malcolm Island isnt bad for salmon either of Bere pnt and black bluff.

The thought of the road there being so lumpy thru to cowichan makes me cringe. I know take it slow but !

My boat stays out there for the most part but I do travel with the boat a few times a year. Its really only the last 15 mins that it can getting a bit rolly. Just pick a speed and the extra 10 minutes or so won't matter in the end when you get there. I can drive it with my eyes closed after the number of times I'm on it....lol

The Sooke route is worse, but if you are patient and take it slow, it’s fine.
