Cause I'm new to this forun I thought I would just see what all my fellow fisherman are runnin for boats these days? Anyone have any good info on the Yamaha F200 or the Yamaha T8 kicker? These are what I'm running on my 20'9" Grady White, I have the kicker wired up to the console so I have control of the kicker with a dual binnacle also has power tilt which is nice for those days when it's rough or when I feel old even at 27 I can feel old some days!! haha I've heard that some people have had problems with the Kicker with power tilt pinching the cables that run to the console anybody have that problem? Glad to be hear and I'll try to answer any questions anyone has in my area of expertise. Thanks

Like most on this board... running a Grady....we should all have that problem!
Let me know what your fuel consumption is after you break it in.
I'd be interested to see with that hull/motor config.

I am running a 130 hp Honda 4 stroke on a 20 ft welded aluminum. It gives great fuel economy, plenty of power, low smoke and runs so quiet I have a hard time hearing it running when I am trolling.

Sharp hooks and full traps!

I running a 12 foot aluminum with a 4 horse Johnson. Since I drag it across the logs and the beach, I wouldn't want much bigger! Although, I could be talked into that Grady.

hey boys im running the ultimate fishing machine.....i have a 16'6 fiberform with an 85 hp johnson and a 2003 honday 8hp, i have 2 electric driggers which are nice when your young lol, i have it set up so nicely! I will eventually get a nice graddy, but no chance now,in grade 11 making $9 an hour wont quite cut it i think, not even if i wanted to lease one. which i wouldent do, well yeah thats my machine... outfished almost all them fancy boats this summer, except for the people that have the nice boats and can fish them well!, for some reason i get a kick out of some of the guys out there in them fancy fishin boats n they cant get a sockeye on, so im gunna make sure i can load up my boat every morning...which i do about half the time, then when im in my 20's i can get a sweet boat and load that 1 up most of the time...

well im out

22'8'' Larsen "Fish Bandit" with a yammy 200 saltwater series and a new yammy 4 stroke kicker. Excellent fishing boat because it has a lot of room in the stern and low sides. Only quarrel with it is that it could be a bit bigger for those sloppy days on the banks.

hmm yeah my boat has a load of room in the back.have 2 swivel seats in it and thats it. then i cut a hole in the floor and firerglassed it and now have a place to chuck my fish. i wonder would it be risky to go offshore in my boat?

very risky. Definitly wouldnt recommend it. Ive been out there some days where its gone from falt calm to a nasty 4 foot chop on the swells in less than an hour.

Well said chevy's and also it's a long row back too alberni if something goes wrong.Wait till you get your grady your dreamin of then hit the banks hard!Any steelies around yet boyz, the time is near!

Just Bring it!

Hey there.
Im running a 21' French built boat named Ocqueteau 595.
The engine is a 90 hp Johnson four stroke.
Take a look at both the boat and the equipment here:
www.trollingcharter.com

It is a perfect boat for the kind of fishing i do, on lake Väneren, lake Vättern and the Baltic sea in Sweden.

yeah chevy sounds good, wouldent mind fishin with some1 else that can bring fish to the bank, i bring fish to the bank, but not in mass numbers, well not yet still working on that part<img src=icon_smile_cool.gif border=0 align=middle>, and the secret spots probably arnt secrets to you, and theres 1 stream i know that should be loaded with steelies, the heavy rains before november always wake them up and make them very active in this stream, I dont want to say it on here, because then there would be alot more people fishin it and alot more pressure, and also the reply's id get from the experianced anglers on this forum

well im out

yea i'm still stuck with a 20 ft. ft.searay with a 351 ford electric scottys and the usual goodies.

thanks the runt

i thought i would impress you with my massize 14 ft K&C. With a monster 30 yamaha. I guess its perfect for what i do. I never venture far from shore and i cant legally drive anything with more than 40 horse by myself. Unfourtantly unlike steelheadman i never fill it up on ECVI.

Have a friend from Hardy that experienced that exact problem w/ his kicker last summer. How it was resolved I'm not sure.

Another friend of mine bought a 20' Campion last year (new) with a big Yammy as well (225, 235 horse?). NOT Impressed w/ the fuel consumption. He's into the double digits. I believe something is wrong somewhere. Boat went back to the dealer for some kind of throttle linkage upgrade and I made some recommendations for the boat set-up. Should all be done shortly and he has invited me out for some sea trials ASAP. Boat should do alot better than what he is experiencing, the whole package weighs in under 4500#'s, 'wet'. After I get a chance to play around with it I'll pass it on.

Have heard good things of Yammy. Electronics are said to be as good as it gets. These two reference's are the only ones that I can provide personal feedback on.

I have a pair of 130 Honda's on the back. 25 knt. cruise @ 3400 rpm plus/minus with a fuel burn @ 6.5 - 7 gal./hr. Working weight of vessel, 6800#'s.

Absolutely love'm.

Some like it rough...
Others just puke!.

Saltwater cowboy, Is the t-8 enough power on your grady? Just curious as to why a 8 instead of a 9.9 or 15hp. I was thinking of putting a 4s yammy 15 on my new 22 foot rig for the extra oomp!I am running my ol' faithful 94 15hp 2 stroke evercrude at this point.
