Yamaha t8 cdi test?

Launched the boat and started my kicker (2015 yamaha T8)to warm it up while I got everything else set up. After 5 minutes it quit. Started right up and I gave it a bit of throttle and about a minute later it quit again. Started once more for a few seconds and quit for good. Tried throughout the day and no go. Thought maybe a carb issue but looking today it’s no spark. Google some stuff and it says I need special equipment to test the cdi? Anyone know if it’s something I can do in my driveway with a decent voltmeter and not have to take it to a dealer?
On the positive side we got 2 small rainbows and a middling size laker to the boat.

One other thing, the red led oil pressure light lights up first pull, little dimmer second pull and not at all third pull. Never really paid attention before but could that just be from me building oil pressure pulling the starter cord?
