What Did You Do To Your Boat This Week?

What paint did you use and why did you select it? Just curious to understand the process. There seems to be so many options
It was my first time getting bottom paint on this boat so I took it into the pros. Sherwood Marine…
They did a sandblast on the bottom, then they did four coats of epoxy followed by two coats of antifouling. Total cost was around $2k, which was well less than half the price of two other quotes I got.

That seems really reasonable based on my limited research. Do you know what brand and type of paint? There so many.

I’ve been using Interlux Micron CSC for 8 years with good results.
Had the bottom sanded, epoxied, and 2 coats CSC in spring 2023. Still looks good and no growth.
I might put another coat of CSC at haul out this spring but will see how it looks first.

Was this always a belly tank and you just got a new one, or was it a conversion? I've considered doing a conversion in my Arima, but not sure how to quite make it fit without some pretty invasive fibreglass work.
I don't think the Arimas are deep enough below the floor between the stringers to fit a reasonable tank. Unless you have the 22' Legend or you get rid of the fish box in the center.

Yeah that is the standard move on an Arima. Cut out the fish box and replace it with a tank. Works if you put your tank connections on the end of the tank instead of the top but that's not legal by my read of the relevant regs. On my boat at least I figured I'd have to cut out the fish box and extend the tank to below the splashwell to get the clearance for fittings, which would take cutting a chunk of deck out. Way more cutting and alterations than I'm interested in, but by all accounts the belly tank does balance out the boat better.

Is that green wire a bonding wire?
Yes,connects to the filler for static electicity.
Nice. Looks very familiar 👍. Did you go bigger than the 49 gallon?
No ,I didn't want to move the back blkd,to give me more room aft for batteries, fish tub, fuel filter etc.. The tank has 2 vent hoses front and back,so it never burps, fills fast, good idea from Seasport. All fittings are stainless and I used stainless lag bolts to hold it down.

Curious if anyone has a decent local source for Evinrude Etec parts. I'm looking to buy a Rebel or Cyclone prop with (TBX hub, 17P, RH). I've been hunting craigslist, ebay, etc - but nothing came up over the winter. All the big parts suppliers are in the US, so shipping/exchange kills any price advantage - and I'd rather buy local anyway. I tried the buy/sell on here - but just got PM'd by scammers.

We'll call this: "What would you like to do to your boat next week..."

Cheers,

Not sure where you are but when I was at Marine Parts Supply in Nanaimo today they had a sign saying Evinrude parts. Not sure what they exactly have.

Nice, looks like you could fit a 14 footer on there too. Good 2 footitus in 1-2 years and you will be able fish a little more chop and use the same engine.
Boat rack 500
Boat 700 no leaks
Motor 3960 with tax

Why pull a bayliner when you can fish a Lund
Lol just my evolution in adventure time will feel every bit as safe for everywhere i have gone on my 18 bow rider on the island
And I’m gonna save a bunch on fuel and ferry rides win winView attachment 115016

Very good 👍
I did the same last yr, setting myself up for when the 2359 is retired (aways yet) and the only boat I'll own is this one.

Bought a 12 Lund and a new 15
Nice - some of the most fun I've had is in an old 12ft car topper with a 9.9. That thing will fly with a 15. The only thing that gets annoying is that the bottom is so flat that they really slap around in any chop. They also like to rear up a lot if you are riding solo - get a long fuel tank hose and put it as far forward as you can.

New Risers and Manifolds, duo props off to Vic Prop for new hubs, change of leg oil. Next act is to find the parts to repair the Volvo Penta tilt cylinder which I discovered is leaking. Started off with just an oil change🤣🤣
