What Did You Do To Your Boat This Week?

Well today was supposed to be haul out, winterize and send off into storage but the trailer gods had other plans. Soon as I pulled off the 2nd narrows I see a big cloud of smoke cacth up to me, yay seized bearing on 2 year old brakes. This thing has been in the water twice since I did the brakes last time, trailers are the best! New parts tomorrow, will repack all the other bearings.
I'm not really sure what happened tbh, seals look fine I probably used crappy grease.
Lubriplate Molith #2.
I dunk my trailer a dozen times a year.
06 triple axle trailer.
Original bearings.
True story swear to god.

Exactly what I do, have a big screen TV and beer fridge in the man cave. Tunes or fav fishing show, a cold one, and start fixing stuff. And....no supervisor to critique or offer her opinion on what I'm doing. Paradise.
How do you hang your tv? I have no wall space in the garage and need some inspiration. Wife wants a TV in our living room, it will blow her top if I hang one in the garage for me!

Nice. A fan would also be a good edition. The more air flow the better in those shelters.
for sure! The doors don’t reach the ground as I raised it up 24” to fit the boat so it does get quite a bit of air flow through the front/rear.

Picked up a new shelter for the seasport.
My Canadian tire one the canvas failed last spring and the seasport does not fit. If anyone needs a frame let me know 12 x. 24 I think shelter logic. Has a tarp over right now

I leave my door open. I tried closing it thinking it would be better for the boat but it restricts air flow and condensation builds up in the shelter. It would rain inside the shelter from the condensation lol. As it gets cooler and wetter I run a fan from the back of the shelter. Also used old shelter tarp to cover the ground and stop that moisture coming up.

Good move with the tarp on the ground. Tons of moisture comes from the bottom up. Critical is a good gravel layer (acts as a capillary break with the ground), and then a vapor barrier on top. Good reminder if anyone is building a garage - lots of gravel + poly. People think poly under slab is only for radon - but it helps a lot with vapor.

Awesome thanks for the info! Ironically I’ve always had the doors off I literally just put them on this week thinking it will help the boat this winter easy to pop off though. Have pretty much the same set up as you more or less works good enough for the money.

Do you have a link for the new shelter?

Since we are into the winterizing theme which of these would you put into a small cabin on a Fiberglass boat? The one on the left is a heater and can be set to come on at +3c . I have one in the engine doghouse. The one on the right is more for air circulation I believe. What would be best for my enclosed cabin?

I've used the one on the right for years and it's been great. I put a small dehumidifier in the cuddy as well and turn it on once a week as well.

I use the one on the right as well. Mine is a camfro. I remove all the cushions and run the Camro and all is good.

The Stor-dry is wicked for Cuddys and RV’s. I’ve had one in my boat and my last camper for the last 8 years and they are perfect every time I open them up after a long winter. I don’t have a dehumidifier for the simple reason that there is too much fresh air exchange with all the cracks and vents that you’re literally dehumidifying the earths atmosphere, good luck.

I run a dehumidifier running in the cabin year around. It makes a big difference. Cabin always smells so fresh. Then in the winter I add in the camfro heater to take the chill out. Again makes a big difference. I also add one in the bilge when a big cold snap is coming.
