What are the regs nowdays? :)

Well it's been a few years...

Are we allowed to fish for anything anymore? 🙃
The regs say filets taste great on the BBQ on the boat and head/spine in the crab trap. One member was fileting, on board and fortunately snapped a picture before he chatted with the DFO at the dock.

Glad you kept the location of your new home close to your chest, you never who will be driving up island looking for deals on fishing gear and we don't want to let any more mainlanders know where the good spots are to live and fish.

It's been a tough few years for a lot of people, I'm glad you are finding your sea legs.

Wow lol well that was a blunder on his part!! Ya I'm on the same page as you there Kaelc. I've experienced that first hand and also don't encourage people to give out that kind of info. Thanks for the kind words. I'm looking forwards not behind me and I have always been an optimist and hard worker so I'm eager to turn the next chapter.

Once you get settled over on the Island head out to the guitar.....
Ah yes, I am familiar with it :) I hope to fish there again next season. I have fished that area out of Port Eliza. Love that area. It's my favorite of all the places I've fished on the island.

Welcome to the island. Nice to have you back on the forum.
Thank you tinboatrobb. It's been a dream since I was a kid to end up living and eventually retiring on the island. When I was a kid my parents would bring us to Mayne Island and Salt Spring Island during summer months and trips to VI from there. As soon as I was old enough to drive I started exploring VI more and more then eventually fishing all around it as much as I could get time to do. Just kept falling in love with it every time I visited. I am so happy to finally call it home.
