My last summers experince. My buddy, his son, my girlfriend and myself had just had an excellent afternoons fishing around the nearby area and decided we go to the resorts pub and have a nice dinner to top off a great day. We parked at their dock around ten to seven and walked up to the pub. For those who out of the loop, the pub and its deck in the summer time is unmatched on a nice evening, and the food is awsome to boot. As usual the place was fairly busy so we had a cocktail or two waiting patiently for our meals to arrive. Being in the service industry myself for the last fifteen years what happened next blew my mind. Our server asked if we happened to come in by boat. Yes why to you ask? Thinking maybe something drastic had happened, maybe somebody smashing into the boat, sinking maybe, floating away? But no. She told us that were going to have to get our meals 'to go' because the dock manager had to lock the gate to the marina at eight o'clock and we wouldnt be able to get back to our boat. Since this took place at the end of june with it being light out til close to ten. Everybodys reaction was 'you have got to be kidding me!?!' It brought me back to the days when i was five years old and my mother would tell me to go to bed at eight in the summer when it was still light out. As a marina, pub and RV park I would think that they would welcome patrons on their premises dropping some quality $$$ that arent staying there. Our server appolgised and we took meals to go. Not the first but definately the last run-in with her.
