Hey cammer....not to hijack but I had a couple of "chummers" up in Kyuquot. They were out on a friend's boat the one day and puked themselves all the way back into the dock. I gave them gravol and told them to take one before bed.......set their alarm and take another around 3-4 am and the next day they were fine out there. A lot of people claim of the drowsiness of gravol but I have never noticed it and I only take it once in a blue moon; tends to be on nights where there are some libations downed in EXCESS the night before. ;)

Not sure if you ever saw this thread that talks about some other remedies. I think it touches on different pills, and the patches.

I HATE having chummers on board and if I am running the boat with somewhat "newbs" or those prone to chumming I always do my work on them the day before so as not to ruin the trip for me or others in having to go home after running 10-12 miles offshore. [:p]

I got that. Your boat, your rules.

Back to fishing. We are back out next weekend. Anything happening on the outer/farther spots yet? I love it out there on a nice day.

When I am trying to "minimize the damages" of a puker on the boat and get them feeling better; I have found the best thing you can do is give them the first rod that goes off. It has helped in the past to get their mind off of how they are feeling. If they say "no....I don't feel good"....tell them "yes...take it....fighting a fish feels good and is therapeutic!!!" [:p] ;)

Now....back to your regularly scheduled program....Ukie Reports!! [:o)]

Still Rockin' out there! Quite a few in the "Tyee" Class wandering to the docks! Best bite has been around 11ish, and the next hour and change it is usually so damn fast it is nearly impossible to keep the gear in the water! gotta LOVE IT! :D

Cheers,
Nog

Thanks, Nog. We are there for the long weekend. Without giving away too many secrets, can we keep the ride out and back short enough to be back before the girls are done coffee at the hotel? 11:00 is pushing it, unless we plaster them with patches and get them out there too.

a little late but fished last wednesday till sunday. south back-lots of fish 15-22lbs. and also quite a few in the 8-12lb range. all on superior spoons and turd hootchies. inshore uke(red can-little beach) was good for 20-25lb fish on bait. fished a couple afternoons at effingham, managed around 10 fish between 12-31, and one nice hog to come along(measured to 44.9lb, scaled 42.1lb) All fish were released except 4 around 16lb and the big one...

Springs still hitting it out here. Picked up about 25 yesterday, including a 42# white male. Lots of lower teens until I switched from hootchies to Tomics. That slowed down the bite a bit but brought the size up to upper teens and low 20s (+ the 42). Seas continue to calm down. It should be a great weekend. Only one Coho so far (a wild one of course) and haven't seen many at the dock.

Apparently a lot better yesterday, still pretty pretty busy on the rods. Lots of shakers. Biggest mid 20s. We were on plugs early and moved to hootchies afternoon.
Started at South Bank with the 'fleet' near the adipose.
Moved to SW corner and used flashers. Big Spring and a Hali mixed in with the others.
Nice conditions to fish in. Fog wind to calm over a mod swell. High fog most of the day. No sun.
NO Coho. and the antenna rod was out most of the day!
Try again Sat.

Big Hogs just started to move in loads of fish in the teens to 20 pound range hit some over 30 today biggest was 42 NO DEBY TICKET;(
oh well still the rest of August to catch a hog
hali all over the place
weather finally mellowed out
if you dont have radar dont follow me out of the harbour stay at the dock!!
Tight lines
