Spent Fri July 30, Sat July 31 and Sun Aug 01 on the water with cheech</u> and devers</u> from this board.

Fri quite rough some decent fish no real size lotsa C&R on small Springs 10-12#.No Coho none.

Sat rough/cold fishing still fair.No Coho.

Sun weather quite good water smooth fishing on the slow side did hook two (2) Coho.

Overall a good trip with a couple guys who post here but had never met each other-always great to fish with experienced people who know the ropes.

One thing worth noting-many of the Springs we caught punched far above their weight-I boated a couple that weighed around 18# that during the fight I would have sworn were closer to 30#-real tigers. [8D]

A few pics.

X2, but we also fished Monday and it was quite different than Sat/Sun.
We found a spot on the Big Bank where there were no boats and the fish were bigger (18-30). We had 3 double headers in a row and only landed 3 fish because a big blonde motherf'er of a sealion ate the other 3 and they were all on my rod. We picked up and moved at speed over a mile away and there he was shredding my 4th fish. We then ran 3 more miles and were rid of him but out of the fish so we did a slow troll back toward that spot where he once again got one side of a double header for his 5th of the morning. He would just grab the fish, peel off 200ft of line, surface, rag doll, and then a head and my big brass Titan spoon would come back to the boat.
We fished just under the bait and it was not deep. Had a 15 lb spring take my sppon from the surface while fumbling for the clip
We tried to catch a hali by trolling turds, bait etc.. and had no luck. Dogbreath, you'll be interested to know that my buddy tied a 6" Tomic plug about 5' feet from his flasher with no special knot and we trolled at about 2 mph down at 220feet and he caught no halis but did finish our trip with a 25 lb spring. All in all a great trip: lots of catch and release, plenty in the freezer.

lorneparker1,

We're going up to Bamfield Thursday coming back Monday the 16th. Look for Finn-atic 23' Alumaweld Super Vee with a white cabin. Feel free to try my cell 206-261-2360. I'd be happy to exchange reports.

There are a lot of the Ukee guide fleet and some of the Bamfield guides fishing up in front of Tofino the last few days. Make sure your tank is full if you're going to follow them as it's a long run

Gotta LOVE The Young Guns! :D

Last weekend:

First_Tyee.jpg

and on...

Fish damn near out-weighed this Youngster! First trip out, and he was a tad uncomfortable at first (was a nice day out there). That passed soon enough once he was locked onto this Tyee! Certainly boosted morale, and he went on to limit! Sweet!!

The next day we wandered out for hali's first. Turned out to be a good thing, as the springs didn't fire up until we had that one accomplished! Had one halibut on that I would have loved to have seen - it actually towed the boat around a fair bit before straightening a number 4 stainless commercial hook!
Collected up a nice feed of 25 to 30 pounders for the Ladz, then wandered back in a little closer to worry some springs. And just in time, they lit up pretty good just as we arrived. Two more Young Guns with their firsts!

All in all a VERY</u> Good Season this year! Just found out moments ago that I have a last minute cancellation for this weekend. Sad for those Boys, someone else will now get Lucky! If anyone is interested in this time slot for getting out to see just what the mayhem on the water is all about this year, give Paul at Castaway Charters a call. Tell him I sent you along, and he'll get you set up with me just fine. http://www.castawaycharter.com/CMSMS/index.php

Only a few weeks left for me at this show, and it just keeps getting Better! Gonna be tough to set the rods down once again, but my Rifle and the Mountains are both calling. I will answer that call shortly into September methinks...

Hope you all are having a Great Season, and some do get the chance to get offshore and discover the World of FUN that awaits out there!! [^]

Tight Lines!

Nice work. Looks like 3 more of Charlie's clipped fish. We'll be fishing Fri/Sat. Any incidental socks? We got one on a watermelon at South Bank 2 weeks ago.

They're around. Tagged a few on 6 inch spoons, and even 7 inch Tomics! Tried targeting on them for a couple hours two days ago. Too many springs, hooked better than a half dozen of those on the red gear, so gave up. Will be trying again soon!

Back to Ukee tomorrow... [^]

Cheers,

A Forty-Five Plus</u> and a Forty-Two wandered up to the scales in Ukee yesterday. One from the Southbank, the other from the SW corner. Pilchard spoons.

The Biggies have arrived! ;)
Time to get out and PLAY! :D

Running back to Ukee today! EEEHAW Time! [}:)]

Hey DOGBREATH, cool to hear that you guys had a great time out on the water with Cheech - he's a great guy and a pretty damn good angler. He is hardcore...

I knew that was you when you guys visited me in the shop - I recognized you from past photo's, although we have never formally met - you should have said hi...I don't bite, and I also hold no ill will towards you as the issues of our past are not nine...:)

The fancy plug that you were using is one that I requested as part of a series that Tomic made specially for me...a great dark water pattern. I am happy that you were happy with it...:)

Basically a Tomic 231RN overlay on a RVP-2 pattern or C231RN...

Cheers,
RVP

I see the Barb on that one![}:)] better pinch that
