I bought a boat with a newer 20hp efi suzuki kicker. It was setup with a Garmin reactor autopilot (with throttle control, and therefore the throttle cable was disconnected). I removed the pilot and set up the kicker with a tie bar to the main. When I go to connect the throttle cable to the throttle plate, the cable length is about an inch to long so it is pushing the throttle plate way off idle. Shortening the cable adjustments does not offer near enough adjustment to fix the issue. What am I missing?
The Pic shows where the throttle plate wants to sit at idle, and where the cable wants to be at idle. There's an inch between them.
I've had the control box side apart and all looks fine. I'm lost for what I am missing. I need help!
