i have one for sale.brand new never opened the pack. received as a gift but i had just bought a satellite phone.great idea though

My dad has spot. I think it is a standalone thing and not with a smart phone, but I will ask him. I know he loves it for sailing up through the great bear rainforest and we liked it because we got updates of where they were, even if they didn't have cell coverage.

I have used one for two years now when I was guiding in the Yukon. It worked great. Sure makes the wife happy when she receives a spot from me.
It also gives the coordinates of where you are. My smart phone lasts about a week with out charging it. I bought a solar charger for back up. No power 400 miles in the middle of no where.
