South Island Charter Recommendations - August

Hi everyone,
I’m hoping to get some recommendations for a salmon charter around the south Island. My family is visiting mid/late August, and I want to book a charter for us since this they are from the interior and this is something my dad has always wanted to do. We'd likely be looking at leaving out of Victoria, Sidney, or Sooke, but might be willing to go further if the fishing is significantly better.

One concern I have is the chinook closures. I was originally thinking of going out of Sooke, but it seems like maybe this isn't a great idea with the closures around there at this time of year?

If anyone has recommendations on which of these locations would be the best fishing and least impacted by DFO closures, I would really appreciate it. Also, if you have specific charters you recommend, I'm all ears.

Depending on what DFO do this year, and if they follow suit with what they have done for the past few years we should be able to keep one Chinook a day 80 cm Max. That would apply to Sooke and Victoria.

We've been out with Blue Wolf Charters and were very satisfied. He is on this forum as @wolf

I also recommend Bluewolf charters out of Sooke. I’ve fished with Roy many times. His boat is always well maintained, safe and Roy’s been at this a long time. He knows how to put fish on the deck.

Well as for closures who knows right?? we are going forward with a season that being said yes I am in sooke .. and have very limited spot left 17,23,30,31 open.if that can help and would love to take you out sooke is a great place to fish
