Manitoba must be a hot spot for salmon fishing compared to the JDF right now. Absolutely dead. No springs in close, nothing at the first and second tideline. One teener spring came in to Cheanuh today until 1 PM... [xx(] Can't wait for the winter spring season!

Bit lumpy today but was able to get a couple of great fish from people from Wales who never been on the pacific or salmon fishing the young girl reeled in her fish a whopping 32 lber !!!! not bad for her first time ever!!!!12 yrs old.the others were a 15 and a 22 lb buck.
The weird thing about the bigger fish the sperm sacks were about as thick as my pinky finger and about 6 inches long made me wonder if it is a feeder???

This forum is terrable for this sort of stuff, just because I catch fish and land them you assume things. So ill make you and anyone else a deal for you come down to my boat anytime you want!!!!!!!!!!!and you can check my gear out then you can see for yourself that its all ok.....that just pi$$es me off!!!!!!I take what I do VERY serious, give your head a shake!!!!!

I would love to see more patrols out there the more the better and checking safty eqippment and flares etc etc etc.because I know most of charter fleet has enough safety stuff on the boat but I know alot of sporties dont.

I saw a guy out there yesterday which was a bit rough. thank god they were wearing life jackets but it was a 12 ft tinny with 5 people in it 2 kids and ill bet you he had nothing in it for safty gear!!!!

I have to agree the statment did not TARGET you. He said I hope all of you.

The barbed hooks part might have been a little un neccesary. He could have used had proper safty equipment. Or soimthing like that. But Im thinking the most common one is Barbed hooks.

Congrats on the fish Wolf. You really are a great fisherman. My boats been out of the water for a week now getting the motor fixed. So I cant say how I think the fishing is these days. But im hoping its getting better slowly. Your pics give me some hope!

yeah, that definitely wasn't directed at you wolf - that was a different sentence and said as a general statement to everyone. Obvious tongue in cheek, but at the same time, we all know there are people out there that still use barbs.

So are the restrictions for salmon lifted as of July 15. I see DFO has removed the restrictions from their website. So does this mean 2 Salmon wild or hatchery above 45cm? Could this be true?

Picked up a 20 lb'er last night on the high flood off Possession. Little rough out there, but we managed to get it in the sack after a good scrap!! That's two fish for three trip's, could be better but we'll take it for now. Gonna try Renfrew tomorrow (sunday) for a change of scenery.
