Sooke coho clipping 2013....May 25-26 - volunteers needed

I am wondering if we can come for the second half of Saturday. My son has a ball game early sat and we could come after that.
Thanks

let me run the tally at lunch and see where we are at - I think there was a request for 1/2 day morning, so that could work to tag off. Will talk to powers that be.

I am quite interested in either sat or sunday, I would drive down fron Nanaimo.

check inbox please.

will sammyslabber or newfie be coming sunday? Their jokes and BS make the day go faster.

Alright, so far looks around 13 Saturday, 11 Sunday - check to see that the day I have you on works for those that didn't specify.

Saturday: rockdog +1, Rockfish +2, Tsquared, Xena+1 AM, Fish stalker, Zed +1, Thawk +1 PM (will get back to you on logistics)
Sunday: me, Chris73+1?, Nautigirl, DavidC, Seadog, Lipripper +4 or 5

That sounds like a throw down... name the day and btw who's picking me up :p

Count me in on Saturday, plus one more, if you still need people?

The meeting place is 08:30 at Butler main gate?

keep em coming - as I said, sounded like 20-30/day was allowed, so sounds like more room. Yes, meeting each day is 8:30 at the butler main gate - destination as shown here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/wjis21/3536883541/

just turn up Young Lake Road off of Otter Point Road (turn right at the traffic lights/gas station right in Sooke and run up there until you hit Young Lake... - its right where street view ends on the 'private road' on the following map
https://maps.google.ca/maps?q=young...al,+British+Columbia+V9Z+0J6&t=h&z=16&iwloc=A

I will follow up as I suggested to find out about the AM/PM crew thing!

Bring raingear if weather leans that way - they typically have tents, but can't be too sure, and you do usually just get wet from water running off the table (expect soggy feet by EOD!)

What time does the clipping end.
Usually ends around 2 or 3 and then on Sunday (in the past anyway), whenever they run out of fry! Latest count is Sat 13 (with tag offs included and not the extras mentioned from thawk - I'd bring the extras u mentioned), then Sunday around 15 (not sure if Karma is included in with Lipripper count!)

As for the 1/2 day guys - you will need to arrange between you and try to have 1 set time - they have lunch at 12, so maybe like 12:30 tagoff? (thats rockdog and Xena for AM, then thawk for PM)

Also, gate will be manned until 8:45 in the mornings and if you are lost or just missed your window, the hatchery # is 250-642-0031

KK was not in my count Deewar

hey guys, so lets finalize things here - the fish count is 40k and it sounds like we 'should' have enough to get all those done (he says 25k is a good day but not sure if he has had this many before).
Final look
Sat: Rockdog+1 to 2pm, Rockfish +2, Tsquare, Xena +1 am (try to negotiate with thawk +1 for pm switch), Fish stalker, Zed+1, Jammer+1
Sun: Nautigirl, David C+2, Seadog, Lipripper +4, Chris73+3 (2 kids), me, sammyslabber+1, Karma kazi

Gate will be open until 9am at the latest - anything after that, you need to call hatchery at # above...lunch around noon as said...don't bring your dogs please - request for this weekend only.

Last of what Robert just sent me here:
As many of you know the forestry gate is normally closedand locked on weekends unless we have someone posted there. The hatchery isapproximately 2 KM from the gate, straight up Butler main , first right ontoBoneyard main and the hatchery is immediately on the right.

So we don’t have to keep sending someone from thehatchery down to the gate , we would like everyone to arrive and depart at thesame time if at all possible. Some of you can only do a half day , that isfine.
Car pool if you can and or drive your compact car ratherthan your motor home to maximize parking at the hatchery.

There are a couple of places you can drop a vehicle nearthe hatchery and car pool if you are that organized.
Just before the forestry gate on butler main on the right hand side At the new 4 way stopon Youngs Lake road at Butler main , there is a bit of a culdesac on the leftNo guarantees on security etc

As mentioned , if you happen to find yourself behind thegate ( Locked ) call the hatchery , 250-642-0031 We will come and get you andbring you up to the hatchery to scrub out tanks for the first couple of hours !

Happy clipping to the Saturday crew and thx to those that realize we are the ones that need to be proactive and help out! See the Sunday crew there.

Just wanted to make sure it is ok that I have a friend and my self for the full day and 2 friends for half day on Sunday. Let me know if that's ok. Thanks

hey David, that is probably fine - I 'suspect' Sunday could be a shorter day anyway and they can close it out anyway? Maybe put on standby until we find out how Saturday does? I suspect we have more than enough but won't really know until Saturday afternoon.
