I see a lot of BC social media influencers and fishing show hosts catching significant numbes of chinook in a season. With a limit of 10 Chinook, how is this possible? Friends, camera crew???

which ones? sometimes multiple boats and crews will post with fish together... glory crap.

Social Media people forsure, I can think of several that if you count up all the grip and grin dead ones would be way over I bet. Most of them not real fishermen as far as I'm concerned. Only in it for the likes.

Most of the shows are run by people who know what's up and C&R most of their fish.

Catching, or keeping?
I dunno. i was on a river tributary off the fraser two weeks ago dodging drift nets and watching huge totes getting filled with fish. a bit more egregious in my mind; intercepting fish as they are about to spawn….beating a dead horse i guess….

Some guys on Facebook post a couple times a week all summer with limits and then are bonking fish all winter.

Guess they have different friends with them everytime

I am sure most find a way to keep it legal. They would be all over the news if they got caught. Then again DFO doesn’t make it hard to cheat the system

I’ve had people question me because I fish the summer and off and on through the winter. I have 2 fishing buddies, 3 grandkids, daughter and son-in-law. I will never catch what we can keep but that don’t stop people from talking.

I’ve seen so one post going to thrasher going back with a few few fish throughout April to June, then go to the island a few times in July and august like banfield post limits their, then fish sandheads all September posting limits, theb fish the winter.

I’m not saying they are guilty of anything but I can see how some may think that

Who? I could imagine one or two, printing multiple licenses but I doubt more than that would risk it. Especially after MKBH just got burned and Canadian authorities have proved they will go after Red Bull athletes who ignore our environmental laws and post online.

There are so many different species to catch and if you fish with 2 friends, it is hard to land 30 nice springs. Maybe if there was a full-time influencer, but I'm not sure anyone has that revenue in BC. I had such a dismal year, I think I have 2 springs on my license.
