The Public Fishery Alliance has just put out a new video - please help them get their message out far and wide - we need DFO to immediately mass mark all our hatchery Chinook and implement much broader marked selective fisheries.

British Columbia salmon anglers have claimed for years that selectively catching identifiable marked Chinook salmon of hatchery origin in certain areas of Southern BC is indeed viable and does NOT impact vulnerable Fraser River Chinook populations. Yet, ever increasing restrictive DFO fisheries management and unjustifiable closures continue to decimate the Pacific public salmon fishery. Following the release of the new scientific research (see link above), the Public Fishery Alliance strongly urges the federal government change course immediately and re-open these important fisheries that are supported by hundreds of thousands of Canadians.

As an angler we need your help to fix this problem quickly!

For a decade the federal government has been decimating our Chinook salmon fishery.

You have a voice ... GO VOTE for change on or before April 28th!!

Please do your best to share this video on your social media or other forums. Enough is enough with the Federal Government keeping us off the water when they're sustainable MSF Fisheries for Chinook available to Vancouver anglers and Vancouver Island.

The Liberal Platform is pushing on with 30% Marine Protected areas and no mention of MSF Fisheries. It all points to further restrictions and less access to angling opportunities. During their 10 years in power, we have seen our chinook limits reduced by 66% and closures in the majority of the Vancouver area from April 1 to August 31.
