I didn’t make it out yesterday for a variety of reasons. I did come to the realization that I just put a name on the boat and by doing that comes a number of responsibilities you should follow or risk bad juju from the sea gods. I will need to christen the boat with a bottle of champagne at launch. It needs to be good champagne not just some cheap baby duck (gods hate cheap spirits apparently). Avoid launching or naming on Fridays (unlucky) or Thursdays (Thor's day, associated with storms). Saturday sounds like the day. Another appeasement is to have some green branches on the bow for the first voyage after naming. I was going to skip a bit of this but I made the mistake of telling my wife about these superstitions and she wants no part of skipping what is supposed to be followed .

Make sure you keep all cans of soup and other food stored right side up, so as to not flip the boat.

I hope that he’s happy with champagne as I have no plans to feed him some of my Belvenie doublewood
