Seasport skipper 19 podding project

I was checking around for electrical/electronic installation help in my area. Moose Marine Electrical had been recommended. Heads up that he doesn’t do any installation or electrical work if he doesn’t sell the electronic units. Never used to be like that but it is now. I got some good deals on GPS and autopilot units at Black Friday deals at Harbour Chandler so I already had my units purchased.
Pretty sure there’s a guy (jarrod, I think) at harbour chandler that does install work on the side

Here are some pics from the engine shop. Big motor is on. The XXL motor did finally come from the factory so they didn’t need to convert an XL to an XXL. Batteries and wiring well on the way. New dash is starting to fill up.
Tongue weight on the old trailer still looks pretty good with the big motor on (no kicker yet). Not sure what it was previous to conversion.

God that electrical looks good. After cramming my head into my hull the last few days to figure out 19 years of wiring changes, I envy the good work electricians do these days.

Went over to Langley to pick up the new boat trailer. Decided to get the Loadrite aluminum tandem axle, 5200lb. Has torsion axels, surge disc brakes, bunks and mounted spare.
Here it is in the ferry line.
Good choice on the trailer. I love mine so far! Sure is nice to have a new one to rely on. Cheers.

You are going with a kicker as welll? Do you have a wiring diagram to share? I’m just replanning mine.
Yep, kicker, 15hp Merc EFI, will be tied into the main. Will have autopilot.
Sorry, I don’t have any wiring plan. I’ll ask when I’m at the shop. I need to bring the new trailer there on Tuesday next week to switch them out. Will be close to be finished by then.

My son podded our Seasport 24; Merc 300 single engine is wonderful/ silent and faster.
Better boat in rough weather.
The leg and engine are saleable, but not for much.
Have you planned to reinforce the transom?

That’s good to hear.
Transom was gutted and redone. It should be bulletproof.
I have sold everything except the engine doghouse. Will also have my Calkins trailer to sell as I just bought a new trailer.

Took the new trailer into the shop to switch out with the old one. It’s going to fit nicely. The big motor on the back looks good 👍 . It might be ready this week, if not, then next week for sure.
