Seasport skipper 19 podding project

APM are supposed to do the run up today, which means powering up everything and setting up systems with the laptop. Sea trial will be either late today or tomorrow. It’s getting close now.
Here are a couple pics with kicker mounted, controls and I can see a trim tab mounted.
Getting close. Excited for you

Here’s the latest. Sea-trial, wide open at about 5300 rpm gave 45mph. Cruise at 30mph at around 3800rpm, 8.8gph is 3.4mpg. He told me he didn’t even use the trim tabs which really surprised me. With big motor running says you can’t even hear it at idle. Pic show the boat sitting perhaps a bit higher in the stern but not much and that’s with big Brad standing in the back.

Man boats just look better with an outboard hanging off the back, great work and have fun this summer.

Those are some great numbers that might be hard to improve on. You must be stoked!

You find with a full hull extension boat that size you hardly use the tabs to get up on plane. Pretty much instant. Mine I only use a little for uneven loads only.

Numbers look good. Don't worry about the way it sitting you can always move weight around. Mine actually leaned to one side when we first floated it. Brought my batteries inward and it fixed it.

The worst is when the stern is higher than bow when it sits in water. Be thankful you don't have that.

He told me that it was up on plane in seconds. I use to be gone in 30 seconds with the inboard lol.
Also said no porpoise which is most people’s worry.

Really looking good and great numbers.Contact me after you've spent some time on her . I'm leaning toward the full extension pod instead of my factory bracket.

What about making an offer on that 27 seasport on stands on pym island or one of the islands outside of Swartz Bay? Seems a shame when there are so many inboards to pod!

Great performance numbers! Nicely done.

Looks like it’s sitting perfect to me. You will be happy when you’re loaded with gear and it not squatting at all.

Mine sits just about the same, you may notice at cruise with choppy waters that’s when you’ll need the trim tabs a bit. Bury the tabs a little, trim the motor up to compensate and it will dig in a bit and ride the chop better.

I repowered with them back in November. They had some suggestions regarding what prop would be the best. Tried their suggestion and even better fuel numbers and performance. Any talk about props for best overall performance?

There’s been talk of props and that is one of the things they look at during the sea trial. He said he’s happy with the performance and numbers, thinks they’re bang on.

Good info, thank you.

Sounds good. I’m happy I went with your suggestion about getting the pod setup for xxl leg, thanks. I wouldn’t want it sitting 5” lower.
