Seaport 2400 XL POD Conversion Project

I’m not close to the boat right now but I will get my dad to grab a few better pictures when he checks in on it for me. I don’t have a top down view and have a few other pictures that might not help much. Mine are a little more straight on but seem to work. You may want to conside how much space you have to bend the tubes when they are tilted up fully. My pod is 34” so not sure about yours. I would say mine is the minimum for that configuration otherwise it puts some strain on the tube...imo. The kicker tube was done at the dealership. It’s a clean look but I ended up putting a drain hole at the bottom of the bend since it’s a potential water collector or P-trap....lol. Something to consider that I would have done differently. I will see if I have any other helpful pics kicking around....

I would personally go with option two for the simple reason that it looks easier to avoid rigging tubes while walking on the bracket.
 
The kicker hose is an issue for me as well. I was also planing on putting a drain hole in it. Looks like you have some kind of plug in the end of the hose for the kicker to seal it off. I wonder if I can get similar for Merc

I think it is similar to the coupling they use to connect the hose to the main motors. It doesn’t seal off tight around the cables so water will get in. That’s why I put the drain hole in the bottom of the low spot. I might try and get some rubber and stretch it across the top of the tube to keep most water out but haven’t decided the best route other than a silicon dam across. Sort of like a cable gland that seals around the center. I think in the end the hole will be the real solution and a fresh water rinse to wash out the salt.

Got over my fear of drilling the rigging the holes turned out pretty good




Started installing the electrical system and pulled all the cables through from the engine!

Hey Guy's

Does anybody know where I can get my trailer weighed in the Langley area? With the outboards the trailer tongue weight is feeling very light and I am expecting to have to move the axles back. I was thinking maybe taking it in the evening to the truck inspection station just north of the border. but I don't know if they have a scale. Are there any other options?
 
If you live anywhere near these scale locations, you could check the axle weight. You. Can check the axle weights when they are open or when they are closed. The scale weights are always displayed. I like going over when they are closed. Easier for me to take a picture of the weight and the axle on the scale for future reference. No to say you can’t do this when they are open, just no pressure to be quick when they are closed.

Hey Guys'

Whats your thoughts on either blue or Pink foam board insulation in a boat? I am turning my attention to the fish box, which is going to get a Stainless liner. under the liner I want to put 1.5" of hard foam as insulation to keep the ice and fish cosy. Most of the foam will be protected from water but there might be some splashing as the foam will be exposed to the bilge as it drains to the back. I have read that the Blue is better than the pink at not absorbing water. Anybody have any thoughts?
