Sansum Narrows....winter springs?

That was me out there this morning. Was that you in the little white and orange boat smiley66? I got caught in that afternoon wind. It was a very rough pound back to the ramp at Crofton. Between the tide and the wind there were 6 foot stacks at the Bluff point and Octopus point.

Thanks for that ... it is greatly appreciated! You answered a few additional questions as I will be dropping the prawn traps around Tent and will be passing thru Porlier to/from Vancouver and may drop the lines for a while on the outside/Georgia Strait side of Porlier depending of my timing relative to the ebb tides.

Fished tent from 10 until around 3 when the wind picked up, one shaker on a splaterback hootchie,140', lots of prawn traps out so on the week-end I think there will be lots more.

1 shaker off tent in the am, 1 shaker off a new reef i tried out when tent was not producing anything (its between tent and porlier)
prawning was not very good for me, only ~25 a trap ina 2 hour soak. some people said they were doing better, but my traps were right beside theirs (choice of bait?? i was using the ace pellets and carlyle).
the bluff was producgin fishing the morning most boats i talked to later in the day had 2 on board, it was the place to be by the sounds of it.

3-4 inch cj specials have been workin like a hot dam but anythin green and white/silver or purple white/silver, or any glow stuff. The 20 lber I got on the 16th of this month had 33-3 inch pieces of small herring stuffed into his beer can sized belly! Loads of hungry fish and lots of bait around this could be an epic 6 months!
Damn, makes me think twice about dunkin' the Hourston in Sooke next week after a few months off the water! Fished the Narrows a lot as a kid in a little tinner, didn't do much on the salmon, but laid waste to the bottomfish.
