Very cool to see! There were historic populations in the Baja and some remnant trout populations in the high mountains.

Given the clip, it almost certainly came from the North Pacific. It would travel ~ 2000 km from Oregon/Cali border. Or roughly 8000 km from the Chilean coast, plus crossing the equator with 25C plus water temps for 1000s of km. Highly unlikely it could survive in those temps.
