I'm a fairly new Saltwater fisherman and new to the island, Predominantly freshwater, as i'm from the flatlands.
moved here last summer to be closer to friends, and because the ocean had always been calling me
However my buddies took me out for the first time this year to Billings Point (see attached photo,) near the sooke harbour in the mud flats there.
while there were tons of bait fish, and bait balls, we were't catching, while our timing could have been off, i still think it might be to Early in the year to be fishing there.
i'm just looking to find some different spots to check out that could be nice to hit this time of year, into the later months.
If you guys could help us out that would be great.
We were also thinking of hitting the coast, just off of shoemaker road, just past Sooke between Port Renfrew.
What would you guys suggest?
