We've got 2 boats going up and a couple of cabins rented at Gallaugher's--anyone else planning on going?

We will be there. It was real ugly out front this morning waves over the bow coming back from Camper 23' searay took it like a champ. Bay fishing was OK.

I'm going to try the estuary and the bay in the yak on Saturday and then out in our power boat on Sunday. Should be good!

I was thinking of checking out the coho fishing in the bay sometime in the yak were is a good place to launch??? And how long are they there for???

Thanks!!!

I'm going to put in just short of the bridge, where the old docks are moored. I have been told that fresh fish continue to come in right thru Dec. but I think Oct. is the main month.

Picked up 5 today, nothing too big. Radio Chatter suggested it was slower for some.

The yak did not produce fish for me on Saturday(other than shakers) but I got out as far as the canbuoy and East Point so now I know it's doable. We ended up with 21 coho for 3 days fishing(in the power boat), not too bad but you had to work for them. There was an early morning bite, then scratch during the day, and then another bite later in the afternoon. I think the winning fish for the derby was 19 lb 5oz.

Would you say it's not worth the drive out to renfrew to kayak fish for coho? Are there any jumping in the bay.

Thanks for the info!!!

Hillier--I heard reports of people seeing them jump at the bar but i didn't see any. I would probably try in Sooke for coho at the usual spots. Fish Stalker--no it wasn't foggy--the odd patch but nothing serious. The wind did get up by 11 this morning so we packed it in by 11:30.
