Regulations Question..........needing some clarification

yep i get it, but what if ya dont get a coho/sockeye/pink/chum?, then technically u are eating one off your posession of springs....holmes*

If you get searched by DFO with more than the daily 2 springs per license, then you must show proof that you were camping or residing at hotel motel or what have you and propely documented on your license. You can not catch 5 springs per license with the intentions of cooking one on the way home because your only allowed 2 per day on the back of your license. There really is no grey area, catch your 2 per day and after the second day you better ship your fish or go home!

Just to confuse matters. Is it a two day possession limit per the regs for places were it is 1 over/ 1 under? If you are allowed to retain 4 chinook salmon in total , and you are there for four days can you just retain 4 overs?

POSSESSION LIMIT – the number of fish
of any species that an angler may have
in his/her possession at any given time,
except at place of ordinary residence. In
most instances, the (2 day) possession
limit is two times the daily limit for that
species, however there are exceptions.
The possession limit for chinook salmon
from all waters (tidal and non-tidal) is four.
The possession limit for other salmon
from all waters is twice the daily limit for
that individual species. No person may
have in their possession more than eight
salmon in aggregate, except at a place of
ordinary residence. Check the limits and
management measures tables for specific
limits by species.

Not 100 % on this because I haven't had time to search and confirm ...but if I put 5 chinook on my licence over a 3 day period (while I am away from my ordinary residence) I think that as long as one of those chinook was eaten completely and gone ( in the stomachs of my friends, family and myself) it is no longer exists so therefore is no longer in my possession so should be legal.... Anyone want to confirm that ? Charlie ? In Charlie's post earlier quoted from DFO it says a fish while being consumed is still part of your posssession limit but doesn't state that it is part of your possession once the fish is completely consumed and gone.
