For a family of 5, I would go 18 foot or bigger with a cuddy, 22 would be better. It's tough to find a boat at under 22 feet that provide cover from the weather for 5 people.

I have a 20ft Alumaweld Intruder. As long as you are using it for day trips and not planning to overnight, the soft canopy will keep you dry.

Yeah I guess most 20 foot aluminums have two forward facing and two bench seats! I forget my old hewescraft always think of fiberglass boats that often just have two seats under shelter, sometimes 4.
