Rear sonar stations

I have mine mounted on the starboard side, to the right of the door and basically the corner of the cabin on a just below eye high grab handle with a Scotty mount. You can see it in my swifsure video and I have a new one coming out in the next few days I can tag you in.
I’ve got my planer board reels mounted there for 95% of the year. So that’s a no go. And a cellphone on my wrist is definitely a no go. I’d lose that $hit so fast!

I’m thinking something near the back might be better as I have rear facing seats. Just scouring the web for ideas at the moment

Current build is going back to 2 9” MFDs at the stern. Both built in.

2nd build went with 1 at the stern (built in) and 1 at the back of the pilot house. Didn’t like the one at the back of the house. Seemed redundant since I could see the helm screen when looking forward.

1st build had a pair on RAM mounts at the stern.

Can you mount it with a suction gimble on top of the outboard. I know it would turn with the motor but prob still be visible. I would have a tether on it. Options; rail mounted or if there’s any decking at the motor side of the corner.

salt is just going to kill stuff on the rear but if you got the funds ...

Well, it’s not where I wanted it to go but without getting a longer Ethernet cable and drilling a big butt hole in the back of my boat, that’s where’s it’s going to live till I figure otherwise. It’s nice cause I can swivel it to either side if I’m jigging. I can always move it at a later date if need be. Should help with the glare a bit too by keeping it lower.

Make sure to add a little dielectric grease to the plugs so they don’t corrode when removed.
