Re powering my Monaro 24 with a 300 hp outboard. What 300 to use

I have a 2024 df350a with fly by wire. Prior to this i always had mechanical controls - I can't see myself every going back to mechanical - very smooth and precision control. There is a cost to it upfront though.

I would recommend looking into the DF300 counter rotating or the 350 if you can have that extra hp on the bracket.

This counter rotating prop makes my 26ft aluminum the best handling boat I've owned. So much bite, tons of power and at low speeds it maneuvers better than my old 18ft trophy.

Definetly look into them

100% fly by wire over mechanical controls. When you’re done the repower it’s the digital controls you interact with that makes the whole thing feel like a new boat.

Spoke with Brad from Monaro today. He suggested a mercury or Yamaha 250 or 300. Said that the boat was rated for a 300 Has any one ran a mercury 300? Has any one had or heard of issues with the motors? Opinions on verado vs seapro vs the fourstroke model? Again still just looking for any opinions experiences or just whatever. Still not opposed to a single prop Suzuki 300. I did ask about the duo prop 300 and he didn’t seem to think it was the best of ideas based on weight.
