I'm upgrading my electronics this year and installing a radar as well. I want to mount my radar dome on top of my 3/4 hard top not using a radar bracket but mounting directly on top of the roof with a 1" base. I'm going with a GMR 18 xHD unit.
The photo below is similar but it is a full hardtop and more forward. The marked up 3/4 top unit is similar to my boat including the rocket launchers and is where I'm planning to install the dome, a bit more to the rear but center with the roof back to front.
Since the roof is already slanted forward I'm thinking of just going with a flat base and not tapered.
Are there any other hard top users who have done the same install?
Any other tips or things to look out for?
