Yes, it's serial. Analogue tech. Select inputs in MFD menus and it just works.

I’m all done now. Everything is installed, wired, setup and tucked in. It was quite the job but I’m glad I did it myself as it gives you a much better understanding of it all.
I did add a new antenna mount and antenna. Also wired in another switch to handle the two speed fan that blows air onto the windshield. It’s the old bus heater that I left in from when I had the inboard. That switch on the dash outlined in yellow was more work than I guessed but it all works.
