Prawn trap - Kufa non-lead sinking line

Hello,
I'm looking to buy a 400' roll of Kufa non-lead sinking line for my prawn trap. I pull up my trap by hand in my 8 ft dinghy and find the regular 5/16" leaded trap line pretty stiff and difficult to coil while pulling up the trap. So, I thought I'd try this Kufa non-lead sinking line a try. Has anyone used this, is it fairly easy to coil into a basket?
Any other rope ideas or suggestions are appreciated.
Thanks

Buy 300’ or regular rope and use 100’ of the lead line you have. Just splice together. Sinking line can get tangled on the bottom where floating has less of a chance. Also usually cheaper.

I swapped out my leaded lines for this about 4 years ago. These lines are absolutely excellent. Much lighter, lays flat and behaves/coils quite well for a softer lay line. After 4 years of significant use, they are holding up excellent.

Now using them with SMI spooler. Holds 800' of line a bit cleaner than with leaded line, despite the same gauge/diameter of line. Softer lay helps

I've lost a few set ups. I like to think that leaded lines will at least end up on the bottom and be less likely to be a hazard for whales and boats etc. Maybe I'm wrong?

I prefer conventional 3/8" three strand twisted poly for everything. It handles nicely, flakes into a bucket without much attention needed. It's inexpensive, and the float part is easily addressed by using a 1 lb clip-on weight 30-50 ft below the buoy. Leaded line is stiff, hard to handle, and almost double the price per metre.

Thanks for all the replies and suggestions. I've bought 500' of 5/16" hollow braid poly rope, much cheaper than the Kufa line. I plan to make my trap line 100' of lead line (that I already have) at the surface and 350' of the new poly below that to the trap. With some clip on cannon balls. But won't get to try this out until June or so.
