I did a bit of a spur of the moment trip from Vancouber Harbor to Lund and Campbell River for 4 days.

Can only do forum posts with a max of 20 pics at a time so I'll have to post this in a couple posts.

wife spoiled me with a keurig coffee maker for the boat. makes making a single cup on the fly so much quicker and easier

some of the traps had octopus in them so no prawn love in those ones but others had a lot of beauty jumbo sized prawns in them

after sight seeing through desolation sound for a couple hours I decided to cross the strait over to the campbell river hump by cape mudge for a little bit of trolling then up discovery passage for a little bit more sight seeing. i got numerous lings there during a short period of time trolling deep and bottom bouncing the cannon ball. but no springs. i was very happy with my couple keeper lings for the trip though cause I hadn't had a chance to target them yet this year. They are one of our families favorite sea foods. picked up some keeper dungie's too but a lot of small ones in the spots i was crabbing at and a couple times my traps were emptied of bait (salmon heads and bellies eatin/picked clean) that were dropped by savory but no crabs in the traps...they were raided i do believe.

Got up in the morning, had breakfast at the lund hotel then headed out to pull the traps and head home. Wind was blowing 20 knots in the strait on the boat ride home. Made it for a longer trip coming back and I forgot to check the tides for the pull out at vancouver harbor. brain fart. it so happened that i hit one of the lowest tides. had to tie my boat up to the end of the wharf as there was no water on the ramp section and i had to put the truck in 4 wheel in the sand to get to my boat but it all worked out well and i managed to get her out ok.
an awesome trip and can't wait to get back to lund/desolation sound area with my family for more sight seeing and kayaking this summer.

Thank you banger17 my pleasure. I enjoy sharing the pics. Can't wait to spend more time up there. And a whole new experience for us this summer with kayaks next time.

Thanks the pictures. I'm a Powell River guy so always enjoy hearing from people who come this way and enjoy it. If you ever have any questions let me know. I guess you got a room in the lund hotel just for the heck of it? it looks like you can sleep on your boat no problem.

Thank you leftcoast. I appreciate the offer. Yes, I slept on my boat 2 of the three nights. I got a room at the hotel on the second night to have a shower etc and to give my back more of a rest on a softer bed. My cuddy is ok but I do need some thicker cushions in it. I have two herniated discs L4 and L5 and they get very sore at times.
